Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute
The Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute is a high-energy, residential leadership program at Arizona State University for Arizona high school sophomores and juniors. For one week selected students participate in workshops and activities exploring higher education, leadership development and community engagement while living on the ASU campus. The objectives of this one-of-a-kind experience are to foster academic and personal success, embrace diversity, and reinforce the value and importance of community service and civic engagement - all within a collaborative peer environment. Barrett Summer Scholars
_The application for the Barrett Summer Scholars program is availalbe online at www.asu.edu/barrettsummer.
The 8th/9th grade program is scheduled for June 3-22, 2012 and the 7th grade program is scheduled for July 8-13, 2012. Eligibility includes current enrollment in 7th, 8th, or 9th grade and a test score in the 97th percentile or higher on a state-board approved gifted exam. This year, BSS will be able to arrange gifted testing for students who do not have a gifted test score. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send an email to [email protected].
Please note that we strongly encourage online submission of all applications, including the teacher recommendation form. All materials must be submitted by Friday, March 2, 2012.
